Yew and Crab Apple Thorn Box (TH102)
This beautifully tactile box is lovingly handcrafted from yew wood, carefully and respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the ancient site of Stonehenge in southern England. The smooth wood reveals beautiful markings and feels wonderfully warm to touch. The lid is crafted from crab apple wood, which has long associations with love and carries a wonderful sense of positive energy.
Designed with care, the lid rests gently in place with a slight friction hold, rather than a tight seal.
This reusable and versatile box is perfect for storing blackthorns, hawthorns, dried herbs, or other small spellwork essentials. If you'd like, a small sachet of dried mugwort can also be included with your box.
Both blackthorns and hawthorns hold powerful associations in traditional magick. Blackthorns—shown on the left in the thorn bundle images—are linked to secrets and binding spells, while hawthorns—pictured on the right—are associated with love and lust. As these can be challenging to source, you have the option to include them with your box.
You can customise the contents to suit your preferences:
- Thorns (blackthorn, hawthorn, or both) can be tied into a bundle, or placed loose inside the box, or a mix of both styles.
- Dried mugwort can be included in a sachet or placed loose inside the box.
- If you’d like more than one type of inclusion (e.g., thorns and mugwort), it’s recommended to choose either one type of thorns or mugwort inside the box rather than all, to keep everything neat and protected.
Simply leave a note during checkout with your preferences, and your box will be prepared accordingly.
If desired, a bindrune for love, protection, or ancestral connection can be added to the base at no extra cost.
The box for sale in this listing is the one shown on its own in the photos. It is also featured in two group photos for context.
