Stonehenge Ivy Hag Spirits (HGS30)
These natural and earthy Hag Spirit figures have each been created from a piece of ivy which was gathered with respect and care from the land surrounding Stonehenge in southern Britain. The pieces contain natural holes within them, reminiscent of a hagstone. Within mythology, hags are powerful and complex female figures.
The figures are incredibly tactile, so feel good to gently hold during meditation or for ritual use. They each carry a protective root and herb bundle which can be best seen in the second-to-last photo (shown on figure #1, please note that figure #2 does not have feathers added). It includes the leaves of wormwood, and enchanter's nightshade. Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb.
The roots of Solomon's seal, yarrow and St. John's wort are added to the bundle. Yarrow brings its strong associations with clairvoyance and powers to promote divination, and St. John's Wort is traditionally used to repel negative energies. Mugwort brings its history of being used to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. The bundle is finished with the dried flowers of yarrow.
A hare bone bead, and a medicine bag have been added to both figures, and kestral and raven feathers have also been added to figure #1. The bags, and the figures too, are filled with our protective herb blend, created from herbs which are traditionally considered to aid protection and bring energies of peace. The bags also contain dried rowan berries, traditionally associated with protection. The herbs are sealed inside the Hag Spirits with a plug of blackthorn which was carefully gathered at the time of Samhain.
A bindrune for ancestral connection has been added to the base of each figure.
