Each of these Dream Walkers wears a woven cloak, and silk scarf, has garnet eyes, and a medicine bag filled with dried rowan berries and a protective blend of dried herbs and plants from folklore which are traditionally considered to aid protection and sleep.

They are all made from hazel wood which was gathered, with care and respect, from the land surrounding Stonehenge in southern Britain. Raven feathers and a Hampshire hazelnut complete the figures. The hazelnuts each have a spiral added, an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce.

They are perfect to place upon a surface near your bed or within your home. They also feel good to gently hold during meditation or for ritual use.

Each figure is also filled with our protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. Fly agaric, betony, and the roots of enchanter's nightshade and mugwort are also added.

Fly agaric is a famous fungi known from mythology and fairy tales, and is considered to have strong associations with witchcraft and the Fae.

Betony is traditionally associated with protection, both of the area surrounding it, and of the person carrying or wearing it. If placed beneath the pillow, it's considered to protect the sleeper against nightmares. It's also associated with dispelling negativity and soothing tensions.

Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb. It is also connected with the goddess of the moon, and was used in spells and rituals to call upon her power.

Mugwort has been used for millennia to to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions. In times past it was considered to act as a protective charm, warding off evil.

The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of oak root which was carefully gathered from an ancient holloway.

They are infused with the energies of this potent ancient herb blend from inside and will make excellent companions to aid you on your dream journeys.

A bindrune for protection has been added to the base of each Dream Walker.

General information
Similar to the Tree Spirit figures, Kindred Spirits, and Hag Spirits, these are our smaller Dream Walker figures. They are based on the prehistoric anthropomorphic figures found in Britain and Europe during archaeological excavations. Many of the originals reside in museum collections. These figures are Spirit of Old's take on what prehistoric people were making and using in the area, and an interpretation of their spirituality - an ancient idea brought forward for use in modern witchcraft.

The Dream Walkers have a defined purpose: protection during sleep. Each figure is created specifically with this in mind, and they are crafted from carefully gathered, earthy materials sourced locally. The main wood of each Dream Walker is selected from a variety including yew root, hazel and blackthorn from the Stonehenge area, and also from British bog oak from Suffolk, dated to the the Iron Age, so just over two thousand years old. Some, though not all, of the figures are free-standing.
