Spiral Amulets (PE1790)
These pendants are all newly carved, each with a spiral added, an ancient symbol of life and life force. They are comfortingly warm and tactile, inviting you to hold and touch them. The back of each piece has a bindrune for protection added.
All three pendants are filled with dried herbs: enchanter's nightshade and betony.
Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb. It is also connected with the goddess of the moon, and was used in spells and rituals to call upon her power.
Betony is traditionally associated with protection, both of the area surrounding it, and of the person carrying or wearing it. If placed beneath the pillow, it's considered to protect the sleeper against nightmares. It's also associated with dispelling negativity and soothing tensions.
Pendant #1 is newly carved from rowan wood, long considered to be a tree of protection. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of ancient Suffolk bog oak.
Pendant #2 is newly carved from the root of a windfallen oak. The wood was carefully gathered from a beautiful holloway, a lane walked by people dating back into the mists of time. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of mistletoe.
Pendant #3 is newly carved from the root of a windfallen holloway yew. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of ancient Suffolk bog oak.
