Rowan Hag Spirit (HGS59)

This natural and earthy Hag Spirit figure was created from a piece of rowan wood which is traditionally considered to be a tree of protection. The piece contains a hole within it, reminiscent of a hagstone. Within mythology, hags are powerful and complex female figures.

The figure is incredibly tactile, so feels good to hold during meditation or for ritual use. It carries a root and herb bundle which can be best seen in the second-to-last photo. It includes birch twigs with enchanter's nightshade and mugwort root.

A simple deer bone bead and a red ochred animal bone have been added. The red ochre is from a traditional source, the Luberon mountains in France.

Raven and tawny owl feathers and a medicine bag complete the figure. The bag contains dried rowan berries, traditionally associated with protection, and our protective herb blend, created from herbs which are traditionally considered to aid protection and bring energies of peace.

The figure itself is also filled with our protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge.

The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of heather.

A bindrune for protection has been added to the base of the figure, and this can be seen in the last photo.
