Iceni Priestess Moon amulet (PE1291)

£70.00 GBP Past item

This ancient bog oak piece is carved into a large, beautiful and unusual amulet, with a shaped moon edge on one side and four plugs of elemental woods on the other:

- ash to represent fire
- birch for air
- alder for its connections with water
- yew to represent the element of earth

It is filled with yarrow, grasses and white clover, all respectfully and carefully gathered from the ancient, sacred prehistoric mound of Silbury Hill in southern England. Hedge-gathered herbs considered sacred to the Druids are also added to the mix - mugwort, vervain, enchanter's nightshade, bluebell, juniper, knapweed, heather flowers, lavender and mistletoe. The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a protective plug of mistletoe.

Yarrow brings its strong associations with clairvoyance and powers to promote divination. Lavender is a powerful herb which brings peace, harmony and encourages positive thought and restful sleep. Vervain is a sacred cleansing and purification herb.

Juniper has strong associations with healing and mistletoe is added for its traditional connections with Druids. Mugwort has been used for millennia to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions.

The wood forming the main amulet is ancient bog oak from the Norfolk Fens, home of the historic Iceni tribe and their infamous queen, Boudicca. This beautifully dark wood feels full of positive energies and is dated to the British Iron Age, around 2,300 years ago.

The amulet is supplied with leather or cotton cord thonging. If you have a preference about the thonging type please add a note in the message box during checkout.
