Fenland Woden Figure (PS069)
This simply shaped Woden figure has been newly created from beautifully dark Fenland bog oak which is around 2,300 years old, dating back to the time of the Iron Age. It feels full of positive energies.
There is a sense that the piece invites being held, making it perfectly suited for popping into a small protective bag and holding during meditation or sleep. Alternatively, it's just right to place on a shelf or in a special corner to encourage positive energies into your home.
The free-standing piece is filled with dried mugwort. Mugwort has been used for millennia to to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions. In times past it was considered to act as a protective charm, warding off evil.
The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of ancient yew root.
The eyes are finished with garnets, and the base has a bindrune for protection added.
The rune, Ōs, has been added to the back of the figure, and this can be seen in the second-to-last photo. Ōs embodies both “god” or “divinity.” It is strongly associated with Woden and “mouth, ”which again is related to Woden, who uses the breath of life and also the breath of inspiration. It symbolizes communication, inspiration, poetry and knowledge, usually of divine origin. Ōs signifies eloquence and creativity, and can aid you whether seeking poetic inspiration or even connecting with the spirit realm.
