Equinox Birch Witch (WTC05)
This newly crafted free-standing figurine is carved from birch wood, gathered at the time of the Spring Equinox, into a strong and powerful witch. Her hair is made from birch which was respectfully gathered from the area of a prehistoric barrow.
The natural bark has been left intact on the body, giving a wonderful contrast of colour and the piece feels full of positive and protective energies.
The witch has a woven cloak, raven feathers and a raven's foot, along with a red ochred animal bone. The red ochre is from a traditional source for it, the Luberon mountains in France. A large blackthorn, a red deer antler tip with a spiral added, an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce, and a piece of jasper have been added, along with a string rowan berries.
The figure is finished with a medicine bag containing dried rowan berries, traditionally associated with protection, and our protective herb blend, created from herbs which are traditionally considered to aid protection and bring energies of peace.
The figure itself is filled with dried fly agaric, and more of our protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. Fly agaric is a famous fungi known from mythology and fairy tales, and is considered to have strong associations with witchcraft and the Fae. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of ancient Suffolk bog oak.
A bindrune for ancestral connection has been added to the base of the figure, and this can be seen in the last photo.
A wonderfully special piece made with real Celtic soul.
