Avalonian Raven Amulet (DAM604)

This dream amulet is newly carved into a detailed Raven's head. Ravens have strong associations with the Celtic God Bran who has both underworld and solar connections and they also have further links with water and prophecy.

The wood is from the Glastonbury area of southern Britain, the fabled Isle of Avalon. The wood is around 3,000 years old It is beautifully rich and deep in colour, and feels full of positive energies.

The raven's primary purpose is for hanging near the bed for a dream charm or in a special corner to encourage positive energies into your home.

The amulet is adorned with a piece of quartz, a simple deer bone bead, a piece of jet, and a Hampshire hazelnut. The hazelnut has a spiral added, an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce. A medicine bag and raven feathers complete the amulet.

The medicine bag is filled with our protective herb blend, created from herbs which are traditionally considered to aid protection and bring energies of peace. The bag also contains dried rowan berries, traditionally associated with protection.

The raven has a bindrune for protection added, and this can be seen in the last photo.

The raven itself is filled with dried betony and the root of enchanter's nightshade.

Betony is traditionally associated with protection, both of the area surrounding it, and of the person carrying or wearing it. If placed beneath the pillow, it's considered to protect the sleeper against nightmares. It's also associated with dispelling negativity and soothing tensions.

Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb. It is also connected with the goddess of the moon, and was used in spells and rituals to call upon her power.

The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of Solstice-gathered holloway blackthorn.
