Avalonian Bog Oak Goddess (AP014 #3)

£80.00 GBP Past item

This British Goddess is newly crafted from ancient wood, carved into a beautiful figurine with a full moon above her head. The wood is bog oak, from the area of the Somerset Levels near Glastonbury, the fabled Isle of Avalon. It is approximately 2,300 years old, dating back to the Iron Age, and is a beautifully deep, rich colour.

The Goddess is filled with our Druid's herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. The piece is infused with the energies of this potent ancient herb blend from inside and will make an excellent addition to your altar or sacred space.

The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a plug of blackthorn wood which was gathered with respect from an ancient spring in southern Britain. The spring has been held sacred for millennia and with links to the Old Ways and associations with fertility. The spring is one of the sources of the River Itchen whose name has connections with a pre-Roman Goddess, Ica. Very little written information exists about her today, but Ica is a Goddess truly of the ancient land in this area and there is still a strong sense of her at the spring. Real magick, old magick is still to be found in the energies of this place.

The figurine is free-standing on a flat surface and are wonderfully tactile - perfect for holding during sleep or meditation.

A wonderfully special piece made with real Celtic soul.
