Acorn-Heart Kindred Spirit (KS113)

This beautifully simple Kindred Tree Spirit figure has been made from windfallen ancient oak. The tree is still living, growing within a beautiful holloway, a lane walked by people dating back into the mists of time (read more here). An acorn heart has been added to the chest and the piece contains wonderful textures and a range of colours and markings within the bark.

The figure is incredibly tactile, so feels good to hold during meditation or for ritual use. It is filled with dried mugwort and fly agaric.

Mugwort has been used for millennia to to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions. In times past it was considered to act as a protective charm, warding off evil.

Fly agaric is a famous fungi known from mythology and fairy tales, and is considered to have strong associations with witchcraft and the Fae.

The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of blackthorn gathered at the time of Yule.

The base of the figure has a bindrune for protection added and this can be seen in the last photo.
