This wonderful piece is carved into a simple and tactile amulet. The wood is bog oak from the Norfolk Fens, home of the historic Iceni tribe and their infamous queen, Boudicca. This beautifully dark wood is dated to the British Iron Age, around 2,500 years ago and feels full of positive energies.
The amulet is filled with hedge-gathered herbs which have been used since ancient times - figwort and the beautifully named enchanter's nightshade. The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a protective plug of blackthorn wood.
Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb which makes it a perfect pairing for figwort which is traditionally considered to aid protection and healing.
The amulet is infused with the energies of this ancient herb blend from inside and is supplied with cotton cord or leather thonging - if you have a preference please add a note in the message box during checkout.
