Protective Spirit Amulets (PS048)

These simply shaped Protective Spirit amulets have been newly created from two different types of wood. All except #2 are carved from beautifully dark Fenland bog oak which is around 2,300 years old, dating back to the time of the Iron Age. It feels full of positive energies. #2 is lighter-coloured holly wood which was respectfully gathered from the land surrounding Stonehenge in southern Britain.

There is a sense that the amulets invite being held, making them perfectly suited for holding during meditation or sleep. Alternatively, they are just the right size for slipping into a pocket and holding in the hand whilst walking.

The pieces are each filled with a protective herb blend which includes herbs respectfully gathered from the land surrounding the sacred site of Stonehenge. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of blackthorn. The blackthorn for all but #2 was carefully gathered at the Summer Solstice. The blackthorn for #2 was gathered at the more recent time of Lammas.

The eyes are finished with garnets, and the back of each figure has Old Norse runic script saying "Til verja", meaning to protect.
