Irish Bog Yew Crow Amulet (DAM598)
This dream amulet is carved into a detailed crow's head. Crows are considered to be birds of prophecy and visions. Like the shaman, they are said to look with one eye into the conscious world and with one eye into the inner world and see beneath the surface.
The crow is newly carved from beautifully rich-coloured Irish bog yew wood which is, incredibly, around 5,000 years old. The warm-toned wood feels full of positive energies.
The crow's primary purpose is for hanging near the bed for a dream charm or in a special corner to encourage positive energies into your home.
The amulet is adorned with a piece of quartz, and a Hampshire hazelnut. The hazelnut has a spiral added, an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce. A piece of red deer antler has been added, filled with white horehound and plugged with mistletoe. Raven feathers and a medicine bag complete the amulet.
The medicine bag is filled with our protective herb blend, created from herbs which are traditionally considered to aid protection and bring energies of peace. The bag also contains dried rowan berries, traditionally associated with protection.
The crow itself is filled with dried fly agaric and enchanter's nightshade. Fly agaric is a famous fungi known from mythology and fairy tales, and is considered to have strong associations with witchcraft and the Fae.
Enchanter's nightshade has long associations with witchcraft and sorcery. It's considered to aid inner conflict and has been traditionally used to find balance by bringing opposites together. Binding, hexing and enchantment is also associated with this beautiful herb. It is also connected with the goddess of the moon, and was used in spells and rituals to call upon her power.
The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of blackthorn which was gathered at the time of Beltane.
This amulet is infused with the energies of this potent ancient herb blend from inside and will make an excellent guide to aid you on your dream journeys.
