"Iceni Spirit" Raven amulet (DAM438)

This dream amulet is carved from ancient bog oak into a detailed Raven's head. Ravens have strong associations with the Celtic God Bran who has both underworld and solar connections and they also have further links with water and prophecy. The wood is bog oak from the Norfolk Fens and dates back to the Celtic Iron age, so is around 2,300 years old. The area is known for its connection to the Iceni, a tribe who inhabited the area in prehistory - their infamous queen was Boudicca, well-known for fighting the invading Roman army.

The raven's primary purpose is for hanging near the bed for a dream charm or in a special corner to encourage positive energies in to your home. The amulet is adorned with a red deer antler tip and Hampshire hazelnut which both have spirals added, an ancient symbol of life and lifeforce. Raven feathers complete the amulet.

The Raven is filled with yarrow, grasses and white clover, all carefully gathered from the ancient, sacred prehistoric mound of Silbury Hill in southern England. Hedge-gathered herbs considered sacred to the Druids are also added to the mix - mugwort, vervain, enchanter's nightshade, bluebell, juniper, knapweed, heather flowers, lavender and mistletoe. The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a protective plug of mistletoe.
