Hola Weg Sláh-þorn Pendants (PE1789)
These ring pendants are crafted from warm-coloured hola weg sláh-þorn (Anglo-Saxon for holloway blackthorn). The wood was carefully gathered from a beautiful holloway, a lane walked by people dating back into the mists of time (read more here). It's traditionally considered to be a plant of magick and secrets.
The pendants are comfortingly warm and tactile, inviting you to hold and touch them.
Pendants #1 and #2 are Elemental Ring Pendants and have a plug of each of the four plugs of elemental woods added to the front:
- ash to represent fire
- birch for air
- alder for its connections with water
- yew to represent the element of earth
On each of the Elemental Ring Pendants, the mistletoe plug is placed on the side next to the front ash plug. The front plugs then continue in the order above in a sunwise/clockwise fashion.
Please note that the back of the elemental ring pendants is left blank.
Pendants #3 and #4 are Faery Ring Pendants and have a plug of each of the three Faery woods added to the front: oak, ash and hawthorn. The back of the Faery ring pendants has Old Norse runic script saying "Til verja", meaning to protect and this can be seen in the second-to-last photo.
On each of the Faery Ring Pendants, the mistletoe plug is placed on the side next to the front oak plug. The front plugs then continue in the order above in a sunwise/clockwise fashion.
