Avalonian Wolf Pendant (PE1603)

£50.00 Past item

This Wolf pendant is carved into a Celtic stylised Wolf, an animal which has long been regarded with awe. Ceridwen, the Celtic moon and fertility Goddess was associated with wolves and there are many myths and legends about the wolf being a close companion of humans and tales of nurture. Conversely, the wolf's ferocity is also well told, reminding us of their power. The wolf has associations with the moon, wisdom and in Celtic lore, also with winter from Samhain to Imbolc.

The pendant is newly carved from ancient bog oak from the Glastonbury area of southern Britain, the fabled Isle of Avalon.

Bog oak, by its very nature is always an ancient wood. It is a term used for wood which dates from hundreds, to thousands, of years ago and which has been naturally preserved in wet ground. The tannins gradually stain the wood a dark colour ranging from rich browns through to the deepest black.

The bog oak which this pendant is crafted from is around 2,300 years old and dates back to the Iron Age. It is beautifully deep and rich in colour, with a few slightly lighter areas which show a little when the light catches it. It feels full of positive energies.

If you have a preference between cotton cord or leather thonging please add a note in the message box during checkout.

Postage and packing

UK postage and packing: £4

Non-UK delivery: We have had to temporarily, and very reluctantly, raise our postage costs for international orders. The main UK postal service (Royal Mail) is currently unable to deliver internationally so we are having to use alternative postal companies during this time which are all more expensive. We are hoping this will be a very short-lived and temporary measure and we will return to our usual P+P prices as soon as possible. UK delivery prices are unaffected.

Current non-UK postage and packing cost for airmail (excluding Australia and New Zealand): £25

Current airmail cost only to Australia or New Zealand: £39

For some European countries, it may be possible to use a slightly cheaper postal service via road. If you would like a postage quote for road delivery to your country, please email Louise at enquiries@spiritofold.co.uk

For non-UK orders containing multiple items, the postage and packing costs will automatically be combined to help to reduce it as much as possible but I'm finding it difficult to estimate accurately because this postal company is new to me. If I find that you've overpaid postage I will, of course, happily refund the extra. Alternatively, if you would like a quote before purchasing, please email Louise at enquiries@spiritofold.co.uk with the item numbers you're interested in.
