Avalonian Bog Oak Moon Pendant (PE1582)
This smooth, tactile moon pendant is carved from ancient bog oak from the Glastonbury area of southern Britain, the fabled Isle of Avalon. It is larger and a little heavier than some of our other moon pendants, making it particularly suited to ritual wear or a statement piece.
Bog oak, by its very nature is always an ancient wood. It is a term used for wood which dates from hundreds, to thousands, of years ago and which has been naturally preserved in wet ground. The tannins gradually stain the wood a dark colour ranging from rich browns through to the deepest black.
The bog oak which this pendant is crafted from is around 2,300 years old and dates back to the Iron Age. It is beautifully deep, rich in colour with a few slightly lighter streaks, and feels full of positive energies.
The pendant is filled with our Druid's herb blend. The herbs are sealed inside with a plug of mistletoe, traditionally considered a sacred plant of the Druids.
It is supplied with cord or leather thong - if you have a preference, please add a note in the message box during checkout.
