Ancient bog yew owl amulet (DAM399)

£110.00 GBP Past item

This dream amulet is carved into an owl, traditionally associated with dreams and night journeys. The wood is ancient bog yew from Ireland and is around 5,000 years old. It is a beautifully deep, reddish colour and feels full of positive energies. The owl has been carved to show the characterful shape of the wood and has a natural hole through it (see photo 3 from above and photo 4 for the back).

The owl is free-standing on a flat surface and is very tactile - perfect for holding during sleep or meditation. The amulet is filled with yarrow, grasses and white clover, all respectfully and carefully gathered from the ancient, sacred prehistoric mound of Silbury Hill in southern England. Hedge-gathered herbs considered sacred to the Druids are also added to the mix - mugwort, vervain, enchanter's nightshade, bluebell, juniper, knapweed, heather flowers, lavender and mistletoe. The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a protective plug of ancient Irish bog oak.

Yarrow brings its strong associations with clairvoyance and powers to promote divination. Lavender is a powerful herb which brings peace, harmony and encourages positive thought and restful sleep. Vervain is a sacred cleansing and purification herb. Juniper has strong associations with healing and mistletoe is added for its traditional connections with Druids. Mugwort has been used for millennia to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions.

This wonderful owl is full of character and will make an excellent guide to aid you on your dream journeys.
